Hi 👋, I’m Jonaliza—an environmental advocate using marketing and communications to make climate and environmental work clear, accessible, and actionable.
Turning environmental solutions into everyday action
II’ve built my career around work I care deeply about—helping people understand environmental solutions and feel motivated to act, whether through everyday decisions or by supporting the broader efforts driving this work forward. That commitment led me to the Marketing & Communications team at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, where I lead marketing for programs advancing climate innovation and deploying clean energy solutions across Massachusetts. I also provide strategic guidance to startups and nonprofits working toward similar climate and social impact goals.
My background began in New York State government, where I spent nearly a decade supporting public policy through communications before shifting more directly into climate work in 2018. To deepen my understanding, I earned a Master’s in Natural Resources from the Virginia Tech Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability, where I studied how natural and built systems interact, a perspective that continues to shape how I approach environmental work today.

This work doesn’t stop when the day ends—it shapes how I live, where I spend my time, and what I stay connected to. I carry that same mindset into my everyday life, staying close to the natural world and what keeps me grounded. The ocean, especially, is my fuel and therapy, so you’ll often find me exploring New England’s coastline with my family or traveling to other coastal places around the world.
