Hi 👋, I’m Jonaliza—an environmental advocate using marketing and communications to help people make smarter choices for the environment and support the work that moves it forward.
Turning environmental solutions into everyday action
I’ve been fortunate to build a career doing work I care deeply about—helping people understand environmental solutions and feel motivated to act, whether through everyday decisions or by supporting the broader efforts shaping this work. That commitment led me to the Marketing & Communications team at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, where I lead marketing for programs that advance climate innovation and deploy clean energy solutions across Massachusetts. On occasion, I provide strategic guidance to startups and nonprofits working toward similar climate goals and other social impact initiatives.
My journey began in New York State government, where I spent nearly a decade supporting public policy before shifting more into climate work in 2018. To deepen my understanding, I earned a Master’s in Natural Resources from the Virginia Tech Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability, where I studied how natural and built systems interact, aa perspective that continues to shape how I think about environmental solutions today.
Living life with intention
Outside of work, I carry that same mindset into how I spend my time, staying connected to the natural world and what keeps me centered. The ocean, especially, is my fuel and therapy, so you’ll often find me exploring New England’s coastline with my little family or traveling to other coastal places around the world.
